A cozy and easy slow cooker version of classic cabbage rolls, perfect for a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat: In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion until browned — this adds bold flavor and gives you a hearty dinner base. Drain excess grease.
  2. Layer in the Slow Cooker: Add chopped cabbage, garlic, uncooked rice, and cooked beef mixture to the slow cooker. It’s the perfect easy dump-and-go meal for busy nights!
  3. Add Liquids & Seasoning: Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together for that slow-cooked flavor bomb.
  4. Cook It Low & Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours. The rice will absorb the broth and the cabbage gets perfectly tender — comfort food magic!
  5. Finish & Serve: Give it a final stir and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. This dish is hearty, cozy, and absolutely satisfying every single time.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey for beef for a lighter option.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated for leftovers.
  • Adjust seasoning according to personal taste preferences.
