Turkey Sweet Potato Chili is a hearty, healthy dish packed with bold flavors, perfect for a cozy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey or shredded cooked turkey
  • 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: avocado, fresh cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic for 3–4 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add ground turkey to the pot and cook until no longer pink.
  3. Stir in diced sweet potatoes, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, black beans, and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes until sweet potatoes are tender.
  5. Spoon into bowls and top with creamy avocado, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.

Notes
