Ingredients
Scale
6 chicken thighs, boneless or bone-in
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup cooked beef strips, diced small
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, chili flakes, and vinegar. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2-3 minutes.
Add the cornstarch mixture and stir continuously until the sauce thickens into a glossy, sticky glaze.
Return the chicken to the pan and coat it thoroughly with the sauce. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until beautifully caramelized.
Sprinkle diced beef strips and fresh parsley over the top. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
Dressing suggestion: drizzle a light sesame oil and lime juice mix over the chicken before serving for a fresh aromatic contrast.
Perfect tips: cook the sauce on medium heat to avoid burning the sugars, do not overcrowd the pan for better caramelization, and baste the chicken frequently for deeper flavor.
Healthy tips: reduce sugar slightly and use low-sodium soy sauce, pair with steamed broccoli or greens for balance.
Vegan tips: replace chicken with tofu or cauliflower, use maple syrup instead of honey, and follow the same sauce method.
Gluten free tips: use tamari instead of soy sauce and ensure all ingredients are gluten free certified.
