Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein or egg noodles
  • 1/2 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (for stir-frying)
  • Cracked black pepper & chili flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Boil noodles until tender but still chewy. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear steak cubes until browned and juicy. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, toss in shrimp and carrots. Cook until shrimp are pink and carrots tender-crisp.
  4. Return steak to the pan, add garlic and noodles. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Toss everything until glossy and hot.
  5. Top with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of chili flakes if desired.

  • This dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
  • Feel free to adjust the level of heat by adding more or less chili flakes.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free noodles and soy sauce.
