Spicy Asian Meatballs are a flavorful and easy dinner option, perfect for weeknight meals or as a party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or pork (or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust for heat)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
  • Sesame seeds (for topping)
  • Chopped red chili (for topping)
  • Sliced green onions (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Combine meatball ingredients in a bowl and roll into 1.5-inch balls.
  2. Bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or pan-sear until golden and cooked through.
  3. In a pan, mix glaze ingredients (except slurry) and simmer over medium heat. Stir in slurry and cook until thickened.
  4. Add cooked meatballs to the pan and toss until coated in the glaze.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped chili, and green onions. Serve over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Adjust the heat level by varying the amount of sriracha or chili garlic sauce.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead and reheated for convenience.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
