- 1 lb ground beef or pork (or a mix)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust for heat)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for glaze)
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
- Sesame seeds (for topping)
- Chopped red chili (for topping)
- Sliced green onions (for topping)
- Combine meatball ingredients in a bowl and roll into 1.5-inch balls.
- Bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or pan-sear until golden and cooked through.
- In a pan, mix glaze ingredients (except slurry) and simmer over medium heat. Stir in slurry and cook until thickened.
- Add cooked meatballs to the pan and toss until coated in the glaze.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped chili, and green onions. Serve over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.
Notes
- Adjust the heat level by varying the amount of sriracha or chili garlic sauce.
- These meatballs can be made ahead and reheated for convenience.
- Serve with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
