Ingredients

  • Beef chuck roast
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Spices
  • Soy sauce
  • Tomato paste
  • Beef broth
  • Bay leaf
  • Cornstarch for gravy
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season beef and sear deeply on all sides.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic, then add tomato paste, soy sauce, and spices.
  3. Return beef to the pot, add broth and bay leaf. Cover and braise at 325°F (160°C) for 3–3.5 hours.
  4. Remove beef, make gravy with cornstarch slurry and simmer until thick.
  5. Slice or shred beef, pour gravy on top, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Let beef rest before slicing.
  • Reduce gravy longer for a richer taste.
