  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Extra chocolate chips for topping
  • 23 scoops vanilla ice cream (for serving)
  • Chocolate sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a small cast-iron skillet (8-inch works best).
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Press dough evenly into the prepared skillet. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake 18–22 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly soft. Do not overbake.
  8. Let cool 5 minutes, then top with generous scoops of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add caramel sauce for extra decadence.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt for sweet-salty contrast.
  • Top with crushed nuts for crunch.
  • Slightly underbake for a gooey center.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • Serve straight from skillet while warm.
  • Swap vanilla for cookies & cream ice cream for a twist.
