Ingredients
Scale
½ lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
½ lb lump crab meat
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 rib celery, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 cups seafood stock
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup dry white wine
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Toasted bread slices, for serving
Instructions
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and garlic, cooking until softened.
Stir in tomato paste and Old Bay seasoning, cooking for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle flour into the pot and stir, cooking for 1–2 minutes before gradually whisking in seafood stock and wine.
Pour in heavy cream, then add shrimp and crab. Simmer for 5–6 minutes until shrimp turn pink and crab is heated through.
Season to taste, sprinkle with parsley, and serve hot with toasted bread slices.
Notes
Use fresh seafood for best flavor, but frozen can be substituted if needed.
For a smoother bisque, use an immersion blender before adding seafood.
Adjust seasoning as desired; a pinch of cayenne adds heat.
