Ingredients

- 12 large sea scallops, patted dry
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Fresh dill and lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season scallops with salt and pepper, then sear for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- In the same pan, reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter and garlic, cooking until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and zest.
- Return the scallops to the pan, spoon the sauce over them, and let simmer for 30 seconds.
- Spoon sauce onto a plate, lay scallops on top, and garnish with chopped parsley, fresh dill, and lemon slices.
- Serve warm with crusty bread or over creamy risotto.
