Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 23 tablespoons milk or cream (for frosting)
  • Red & white fondant (for decorations)
  • Mini red candies (nose)
  • Mini chocolate chips or candy eyes
  • Red sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Make cupcakes — Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Bake for 18–20 minutes at 350°F. Cool fully.
  2. Make frosting — Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and milk to achieve piping texture. Pipe tall swirls onto cooled cupcakes.
  3. Decorate Santa — Shape mini fondant hats, then add a red candy nose, chocolate chip or candy eyes, and a mustache using fondant or frosting. Finish with red sprinkles.

Notes

  • Reduce sugar for lighter cupcakes.
  • Use dairy-free substitutes if needed.
  • Freeze undecorated cupcakes for up to 2 months.
