- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp milk (to thin, if needed)
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it foam for 5 minutes.
- Mix in sugar, butter, eggs, cocoa, food coloring, and salt. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
- Let dough rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.
- Roll out dough, spread butter, and sprinkle cinnamon sugar blend.
- Roll up the dough, slice into rolls, and place in a greased pan. Let rise again, then bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.
- Beat icing ingredients until smooth. Drizzle generously over warm rolls.
