Indulge in these crispy, creamy, and fruity Raspberry Custard Danishes, a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup pastry cream or vanilla custard (homemade or store-bought)
  • Fresh raspberries
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 3×3 inch squares. Twist each into a swirl or fold corners inward to form a nest.
  3. Place a spoonful of custard in the center of each pastry. Add one raspberry on top of each.
  4. Brush edges lightly with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  6. Let cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with tea or coffee
  • Add lemon zest to custard for a citrusy twist
  • Swap raspberry for strawberry or blueberry
  • Keep pastry cold for best flakiness
  • Chill danishes before baking to hold shape
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat briefly
