- 4 slices thick white bread (Texas toast style works best)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12–16 slices pepperoni
- ¼ cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or red pepper flakes
- Spread pizza sauce on two slices of bread. Add a thick layer of shredded mozzarella and layer with pepperoni slices. Top with the other bread slices.
- Spread softened butter on the outer sides of each sandwich. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden brown and cheese is melty.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
- Add extra toppings like mushrooms, olives, or jalapeños inside if desired.
Notes
- Use thick bread for better texture.
- Adjust pepperoni quantity to taste.
- Serve hot for the best cheese pull.
