A flavorful Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich recipe featuring ribeye steak, sautéed onions, and peppers, topped with melty provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced (freeze 30 mins for easier slicing)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or your fav melty cheese)
  • 2 hoagie rolls or sub buns
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: mushrooms, hot peppers, or mayo for extra heat or creaminess

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Veggies: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter. Toss in onions and bell peppers. Cook until golden and caramelized.
  2. Cook the Steak: Push veggies to the side and toss sliced steak onto the hot skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes until just browned.
  3. Melt the Cheese: Reduce heat to low. Lay provolone slices over the steak and veggie mixture. Cover pan for 1–2 minutes to melt.
  4. Prep the Rolls: Toast your hoagie rolls until lightly crisp.
  5. Assemble & Serve: Pile the steak-cheese-veggie combo into rolls. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, freeze the ribeye steak for 30 minutes before cutting.
  • Feel free to customize with additional toppings like mushrooms or hot peppers.
