- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter (cut into small cubes)

- Grease a 9×13″ baking dish. Spread bread cubes evenly.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the bread. Gently press the bread down to soak. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

- Let cool slightly, then drizzle with warm maple syrup.
Notes

- Substitute pecans with walnuts or omit for nut-free version.
- Use day-old bread for better texture.
