- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup cremini or baby bella mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (plus extra for garnish)
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Score a 1/2-inch border around each rectangle.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet. Add mushrooms, garlic, and thyme. Cook until golden brown.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese inside each pastry border.
- Spoon mushroom mixture over the cheese, keeping it inside the border.
- Brush edges with egg wash. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Use Gruyère for a richer flavor.
- Serve warm for best texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
