Ingredients
Scale
6 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Chocolate sauce or ganache (for drizzle)
Chocolate shavings or curls
Chocolate heart or topper (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 ramekins and lightly dust with cocoa powder.
Melt dark chocolate and butter together (microwave or double boiler) until smooth. Let cool slightly.
Whisk powdered sugar into the chocolate mixture.
Add eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla. Whisk until glossy and thick.
Gently fold in flour and salt just until combined.
Divide batter evenly into ramekins and place on a baking tray.
Bake for 11–13 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft and molten.
Rest for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates.
Notes
Do NOT overbake — the center should jiggle slightly.
Chill batter for 20 minutes if you want thicker lava.
