Ingredients
Scale
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon instant yeast
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
2 tablespoons olive oil
¾ cup warm milk (adjust as needed)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup cooked shredded chicken (seasoned with cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper)
2 tablespoons green onion, sliced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon crushed chili (optional)
Salt to taste
Instructions
In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add yogurt and oil. Gradually add warm milk until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Knead 10 minutes. Cover and let rise 1 hour.
Sauté chopped onion in olive oil until soft. Add seasoned shredded chicken and green onion. Let cool, then mix in cheese.
Divide dough into 4 balls. Roll each into a round. Spoon filling in center, fold over, and gently flatten.
Cook on a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat, flipping until both sides are golden and cooked through.
Notes
Pair with spicy garlic yogurt dip or herb tahini dressing.
Serve alongside a crunchy cucumber salad for freshness.
Use whole wheat flour and low-fat cheese for a lighter version.
Substitute chicken with mashed spiced chickpeas for a plant-based option.
Wrap leftovers in foil and reheat on a skillet for crisp results.
