A delightful citrus dessert with layers of moist lemon cake and creamy honey frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp lemon zest
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Make cake: Beat butter & sugar. Add eggs, zest, juice. Add dry ingredients + milk.
  2. Bake two 8-inch layers for 20–25 minutes. Cool fully. Slice into 4 layers.
  3. Make frosting: whip cream cheese + sugar + honey + zest; fold in whipped cream.
  4. Layer cake with lemon cream.
  5. Warm honey + lemon juice, drizzle over top.

Notes

  • Chill overnight for cleaner slices
  • Use fresh lemon only
  • Add edible gold for shine
