- 1½ cups flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp lemon zest
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ½ cup milk
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- ½ cup cream cheese
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp honey
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Make cake: Beat butter & sugar. Add eggs, zest, juice. Add dry ingredients + milk.
- Bake two 8-inch layers for 20–25 minutes. Cool fully. Slice into 4 layers.
- Make frosting: whip cream cheese + sugar + honey + zest; fold in whipped cream.
- Layer cake with lemon cream.
- Warm honey + lemon juice, drizzle over top.
Notes
- Chill overnight for cleaner slices
- Use fresh lemon only
- Add edible gold for shine
