Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on optional)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Hot Honey Sauce:
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to heat preference)
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 clove garlic, grated or minced
Instructions
Marinate the Shrimp: Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 15–30 minutes to tenderize and lock in juicy texture and crispy perfection vibes.
Dredge & Coat: Mix flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss shrimp in the dry mix for that ultimate golden crunch and fried snack win.
Fry ‘Em Up: Heat oil to 350°F and fry shrimp until golden and crispy (about 2–3 minutes per side). This step guarantees next-level crispiness and bold bite satisfaction.
Make the Hot Honey: In a saucepan, melt butter, add honey, hot sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until it’s sticky-sweet heat magic.
Toss & Serve: Drizzle or toss crispy shrimp in the hot honey sauce. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds for a showstopper appetizer or sweet heat dinner upgrade.
Notes
Adjust the amount of hot sauce in the hot honey sauce to suit your heat preference.
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the shrimp in the buttermilk and dry mix.
