A delightful treat of hasselback baked apples with a gooey cheese and crunchy pecan topping, perfect for fall.

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples (Honeycrisp or Gala)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • ⅓ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar
  • ¼ cup toasted pecans
  • Fresh rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice apples thinly without cutting through.
  2. Mix butter, syrup, cinnamon, and salt. Brush between slices.
  3. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 30 minutes, covered halfway.
  4. Add cheese and bake 5 more minutes until melted.
  5. Top with pecans, maple drizzle, and rosemary.
