A hearty and comforting casserole combining ground beef, green beans, and a creamy mushroom sauce, topped with melted cheese and crispy onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen green beans (trimmed)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions (French’s style)
  • Optional: dash of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor kick

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a large skillet with diced onions and garlic until cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add Worcestershire sauce if desired.
  3. Mix in green beans and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes. Add crispy fried onions in the last 5 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, toast the crispy onions separately and sprinkle them on after baking.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
