Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp with Rice is an easy weeknight dinner that feels like a fancy takeout win!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup chicken or seafood broth
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (jasmine or basmati preferred)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear until pink and juicy.
  2. Remove shrimp and lower heat. Add remaining butter and minced garlic, cooking for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in broth and heavy cream.
  3. Stir in Parmesan and let the sauce thicken slightly, about 2–3 minutes. Adjust seasoning with more salt and cracked pepper.
  4. Toss shrimp back into the skillet, coating each piece in the garlic butter sauce. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Spoon shrimp and sauce over fluffy white rice. Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra crack of pepper.
