A creamy, flavorful Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta that comes together in just 30 minutes. Perfect for date nights or a quick weeknight seafood dinner, this dish combines tender shrimp, rich cream sauce, and pasta for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for heat
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine (or chicken broth) and simmer for a few minutes until slightly reduced.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon zest. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to coat everything evenly in the sauce.
  7. Stir in fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  8. Serve hot with optional crushed red pepper flakes and crusty bread on the side.

Notes

  • Use chicken broth instead of wine for an alcohol-free version.
  • Adjust lemon juice and zest to your taste preference for added brightness.
  • Reserve some pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated gently with a splash of cream or broth.
