Juicy, buttery, tender and unbelievably irresistible garlic butter filet mignon with shrimp.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 filet mignon steaks (6 oz each)
  • Salt & cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 sprig rosemary or thyme
  • 810 shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt & pepper
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Let steaks reach room temperature. Season generously with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet on medium-high. Sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, flipping once. During the last minute, add butter, smashed garlic, and rosemary. Spoon the aromatic butter over the steaks continuously. Rest on a plate.
  2. In the same skillet, add oil and minced garlic; cook 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Squeeze lemon juice and add parsley. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a small pan. Add garlic, cook 1 minute. Stir in parsley and lemon juice.
  4. Place steak on a plate. Top with shrimp. Drizzle garlic herb butter sauce over everything. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Rest the steak for 5 minutes to keep juices inside.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp — they cook fast.
  • Use clarified butter for a deeper golden sear.
  • Baste continuously for restaurant-style flavor.
