Deeply chocolatey, crackly on top, irresistibly gooey inside — these are the brownies everyone fights over.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (75 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175 g) chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture just until combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chunks or chips.
  5. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top. Bake 25–30 minutes, until the top is crackly and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs (not clean).
  6. Let cool completely before slicing — this is where the fudgy magic happens.

Notes

  • For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake.
  • Use dark cocoa for deeper flavor.
  • Chill brownies before cutting for ultra-clean slices.
