2 cups whole milk
¼ cup cornstarch + extra ½ cup for coating
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp unsalted butter
Oil for frying
Cinnamon, powdered sugar & warm honey for serving
Instructions
In a saucepan, whisk milk, cornstarch, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon over medium heat until thick and smooth (8–10 minutes). Stir in butter.
Pour into a parchment-lined 8×8″ pan. Cool, then refrigerate 3 hours until firm.
Cut into cubes and coat lightly with cornstarch.
Fry in hot oil until golden on all sides; drain on paper towels.
Dust with cinnamon and powdered sugar, then drizzle with honey before serving.
