A quick and easy low-carb dinner option that captures the flavors of traditional egg rolls without the wrapper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or coconut aminos for paleo)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Optional: drizzle of sriracha or spicy mayo on top
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil and cook the ground pork until fully browned and slightly crispy.
  2. Stir in garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
  3. Add shredded cabbage and carrots, sauté until tender-crisp, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Pour in soy sauce and rice vinegar, then toss everything together until fully coated and steaming hot.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of spicy mayo or sriracha before serving.

Notes

  • This dish is a great healthy takeout alternative.
  • Feel free to substitute ground pork with ground turkey or chicken.
  • For a paleo version, use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
