Ingredients
Scale
1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breast or thighs, cubed
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground coriander
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup water (as needed for consistency)
Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Cooked basmati rice or naan bread (for serving)
Instructions
Marinate the Chicken: Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Add chicken, coat well, and let it sit for a flavor-packed family dinner or overnight for next-level tenderness.
Sear to Lock in Flavor: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add marinated chicken and sear for 3–4 minutes until browned.
Sauté the Aromatics: Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Simmer the Sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, paprika, coriander, and water. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Then pour in cream and stir until it becomes creamy.
Garnish & Serve: Top with chopped cilantro and serve hot with basmati rice or warm naan.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
