  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup water (as needed for consistency)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked basmati rice or naan bread (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Add chicken, coat well, and let it sit for a flavor-packed family dinner or overnight for next-level tenderness.
  2. Sear to Lock in Flavor: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add marinated chicken and sear for 3–4 minutes until browned.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics: Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Simmer the Sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, paprika, coriander, and water. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Then pour in cream and stir until it becomes creamy.
