  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional for extra flavor)
  • Royal icing or store-bought white icing
  • Food coloring (red, green, blue, yellow)
  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, colored sugar, candy pearls

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough: Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the Good Stuff: Mix in egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Slowly stir in flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. Roll & Cut: Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and use cookie cutters (stars, trees, etc.).
  4. Bake ‘til Golden: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes. Let cool completely.
