  • 1/4 cup water (for caramel)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs (for cake mix)
  • 1 cup water (for cake mix)

Instructions

  1. Make the caramel base by heating sugar and water until golden. Pour into a greased pan and sprinkle pecans.
  2. Whisk sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Prepare cake mix with water, oil, and eggs as per box instructions.
  4. Layer crème brûlée mixture over caramel, then spoon cake batter on top.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 55–65 minutes in a water bath. Cool and refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use a Bundt pan for best results.
