1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 oz lump crab meat
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
2 carrots, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups seafood or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
½ tsp paprika
1 tsp dried parsley
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 package Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix (or homemade biscuit mix)
Ingredients required by the package (typically milk, shredded cheddar, and butter)
Instructions
Heat butter and olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet. Sauté onion, celery, carrots, and garlic until softened.
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in broth and heavy cream until smooth. Add Old Bay seasoning, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
Fold in shrimp, crab meat, peas, and cheddar cheese.
Mix Cheddar Bay Biscuit batter according to package directions. Drop spoonfuls over the seafood filling.
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes until biscuits are golden and filling bubbles.
Brush warm biscuits with garlic herb butter. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use fresh seafood for best flavor.
