Ingredients
Scale
500g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chicken or seafood broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 cups cooked white rice (for serving)
Instructions
Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes.
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in tomato paste and cook briefly to deepen flavor.
Pour in broth and simmer 2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
Reduce heat to medium. Add heavy cream, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return shrimp to the skillet and spoon sauce over. Simmer 2–3 more minutes until shrimp are fully coated and tender.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve over warm rice. Spoon extra sauce generously on top.
Notes
Do not overcook shrimp — they cook very quickly.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smoother sauce.
Add a splash of white wine before the broth for extra depth.
