1 tablespoon chopped chives or dill
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

In a bowl, mix cream cheese with chives or dill, season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Spread cream cheese mixture on one side of each pastry rectangle.

Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or cracked pepper.

Notes
Use smoked salmon for an extra flavor boost.
Ensure puff pastry is chilled before baking for best flakiness.
Substitute cream cheese with ricotta or labneh for variation.
