Indulge in pure bliss with this classic cinnamon french toast recipe, featuring golden, fluffy, and cinnamon-kissed slices that are melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 thick slices brioche or Texas toast
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, soaking both sides for a few seconds without making it too soggy.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook soaked bread 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges.
  5. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  6. Dust generously with powdered sugar and top with whipped cream.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for the best texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even browning.
  • Let the toast rest 1 minute before serving for perfect fluffiness.
