Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies are an easy baking delight loaded with gooey chocolate chunk magic!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional for extra melt!)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla for a rich, bakery-style cookie dough.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to wet mixture and stir just until combined.
  3. Fold in chocolate chunks and mini chips, saving a few to press on top.
  4. Chill dough for 30–60 minutes to prevent spreading.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto lined baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough is crucial for thick, chewy cookies.
  • Pressing extra chocolate on top enhances the bakery-style look.
