- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional for extra melt!)
- Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)
- Beat the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla for a rich, bakery-style cookie dough.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to wet mixture and stir just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chunks and mini chips, saving a few to press on top.
- Chill dough for 30–60 minutes to prevent spreading.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto lined baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
Notes
- Chilling the dough is crucial for thick, chewy cookies.
- Pressing extra chocolate on top enhances the bakery-style look.
