Crunchy, chocolatey, festive and absolutely irresistible treat perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve salted crackers (about 40, like saltines or butter crackers)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional layer)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds or cashews work great)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (like cranberries or cherries)
  • Festive sprinkles or candy-coated chocolates (optional but fun!)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbling. Let boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Carefully pour hot toffee over crackers and spread evenly. Bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee. Let sit for 2 minutes to melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Add white chocolate chips if using, and swirl in for a marbled look. Top with nuts, dried fruit, and candy sprinkles.
  6. Chill in fridge or freezer until set. Break into pieces and serve!

Notes

  • Let the toffee boil fully to get that perfect snap.
  • Use parchment to avoid sticking.
  • Store in fridge up to 1 week or freeze for later.
