Ingredients
Scale
Cherry Compote:
1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp vanilla extract
Milkshake:
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup cold milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
Toppings:
Whipped cream
Fresh or maraschino cherries
Crushed candy cane (optional)
Instructions
Make the cherry compote: Cook cherries, syrup (or honey), and lemon juice over medium heat 6–8 minutes until glossy and soft. Stir in vanilla. Cool completely.
Blend the vanilla shake: Blend ice cream, milk, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
Layer the magic: Add cherry compote to the bottom of tall glasses. Pour in milkshake halfway, add more compote, finish with the remaining milkshake.
Make it festive: Top with whipped cream, a cherry, and crushed candy cane. Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve with striped Christmas straws.
Chill glasses before layering for a frosty look.
Add extra cherry compote on top for glossy red color.
Cool compote completely so it doesn’t melt the shake.
