A festive and creamy cherry vanilla milkshake perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • Cherry Compote:
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Milkshake:
  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Toppings:
  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh or maraschino cherries
  • Crushed candy cane (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the cherry compote: Cook cherries, syrup (or honey), and lemon juice over medium heat 6–8 minutes until glossy and soft. Stir in vanilla. Cool completely.
  2. Blend the vanilla shake: Blend ice cream, milk, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
  3. Layer the magic: Add cherry compote to the bottom of tall glasses. Pour in milkshake halfway, add more compote, finish with the remaining milkshake.
  4. Make it festive: Top with whipped cream, a cherry, and crushed candy cane. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve with striped Christmas straws.
  • Chill glasses before layering for a frosty look.
  • Add extra cherry compote on top for glossy red color.
  • Cool compote completely so it doesn’t melt the shake.
  • Use premium vanilla ice cream for best flavor.
  • Add more milk if you want a thinner consistency.
