- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup thick chocolate spread (Nutella or similar)
- 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional)
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm milk and eggs. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Add softened butter and knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 8 portions. Flatten each piece and place 1–2 tablespoons chocolate spread in the center. Add chopped chocolate if using.
- Pinch edges tightly to seal and form into smooth balls. Place seam-side down on lined baking tray.
- Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes.
- Brush with egg wash, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake at 180°C / 350°F for 15–18 minutes until deeply golden.
- Let cool slightly before biting in for that lava-style chocolate flow.
Notes
- Serve warm for maximum chocolate melt.
- Dust lightly with powdered sugar.
- Pair with coffee or hot milk.
- Freeze small scoops of chocolate before stuffing to prevent leaks.
- Seal dough tightly to keep filling inside.
- Reheat 10 seconds in microwave for extra gooey center.
