Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup celery, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup seafood stock or chicken broth
  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp flour (for thickening)
  • 1 cup biscuit mix (like Bisquick)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion, celery, and garlic until soft.
  2. Add shrimp and cook until just pink, then stir in crab meat.
  3. Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the cream and broth.
  4. Add cream cheese, Old Bay seasoning, black pepper, and paprika. Simmer until thick and creamy.
  5. Spoon the filling into 4 ramekins or one large baking dish.
  6. In a bowl, mix biscuit mix, cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, and melted butter.
  7. Drop generous spoonfuls of the biscuit mixture over the filling.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken broth for seafood stock if unavailable.
  • Use pre-cooked shrimp for faster prep time.
  • Adjust Old Bay seasoning to taste for desired spice level.
  • Ensure the filling is thick enough before topping with biscuit dough to prevent sogginess.
