A warm, gooey, buttery dessert with caramel goodness, featuring sliced bananas and toasted pecans served over vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/3 cup toasted pecans
  • Extra caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter until bubbling.
  2. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until dissolved and glossy.
  3. Add banana slices and cook 1–2 minutes per side until softened and caramelized (don’t overcook).
  4. Stir in heavy cream and a pinch of salt. Simmer 30 seconds until silky and thick. Remove from heat.
  5. Place warm caramel bananas into bowls. Top with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  6. Sprinkle toasted pecans over the top and drizzle with extra caramel sauce. Finish with a tiny pinch of flaky salt if desired.

Notes

  • Add a splash of dark rum to the caramel for a Bananas Foster twist.
  • Swap pecans for walnuts or almonds.
  • Serve over warm brownies for ultimate indulgence.
  • Use slightly firm bananas so they hold shape.
  • Toast pecans in a dry pan 2–3 minutes for deeper flavor.
  • Assemble quickly while bananas are still warm for best contrast.
