A bold and creamy weeknight banger that’s flavor-packed and easy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz rigatoni (or pasta of choice)
  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 oz andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil rigatoni in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook shrimp with half the Cajun seasoning until just pink. Remove and do the same with sausage slices.
  3. In the same skillet, toss in bell peppers and onions. Sauté until softened.
  4. Add butter and garlic to the pan. Stir in cream, Parmesan, remaining Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer until thick.
  5. Add pasta, shrimp, and sausage to the skillet. Mix to coat everything in the sauce. Serve hot and garnish with parsley or more Parm.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor and color.
