Butter-basted lobster tails with a creamy herb sauce make for an easy yet gourmet seafood dinner. Perfectly seared in butter and finished with a rich, flavorful sauce, this dish is ideal for special occasions or an indulgent weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails, shells split and meat lifted
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Lobster Tails: Cut through the top of the shell and lift the meat over the shell for presentation and better flavor absorption.
  2. Sear in Butter: In a hot pan, melt the butter and cook the lobster tails meat-side down for 2–3 minutes. Flip, baste with melted butter, and cook until the flesh is opaque.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same pan, add garlic, heavy cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
  4. Plate Like a Pro: Spoon the creamy sauce over the lobster tails, garnish with chopped chives or parsley.
  5. Optional Add-On: Serve over pasta or with grilled asparagus for a complete gourmet meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh lobster tails for the best flavor and texture.
  • Don’t overcook the lobster; it becomes rubbery if overdone.
  • The creamy herb sauce also pairs well with shrimp or scallops.
  • Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
