Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • ½ lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with sesame oil.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok. Cook beef for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove. Cook shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Set aside.
  3. Sauté onion, mushrooms, bell pepper, snap peas, garlic, and ginger until crisp-tender.
  4. Whisk sauce ingredients together. Return beef and shrimp to the wok, add noodles, and pour in sauce. Toss for 2-3 minutes until coated.
  5. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh noodles for best texture.
  • Adjust spice level with more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Cook on high heat for proper stir-fry texture.
