- 8 oz lo mein noodles
- ½ lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- ½ onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 3 green onions, chopped
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with sesame oil.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok. Cook beef for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove. Cook shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Set aside.
- Sauté onion, mushrooms, bell pepper, snap peas, garlic, and ginger until crisp-tender.
- Whisk sauce ingredients together. Return beef and shrimp to the wok, add noodles, and pour in sauce. Toss for 2-3 minutes until coated.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use fresh noodles for best texture.
- Adjust spice level with more or less red pepper flakes.
- Cook on high heat for proper stir-fry texture.
