A delicious BBQ Chicken Bread Bowl Platter filled with crispy chicken and cheesy goodness, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Oil for frying
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (for tossing)
  • 1 large round sourdough bread loaf
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Onion rings (for serving)
  • Coleslaw (for serving)
  • Honey mustard & extra BBQ sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Dredge in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  2. Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain and toss in warm BBQ sauce.
  3. Cut the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center. Brush inside lightly with melted butter and toast for 5 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
  4. Heat heavy cream until warm. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and silky. Add garlic powder and pepper.
  5. Pour hot cheese sauce into the toasted bread bowl. Place under broiler for 1–2 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  6. Arrange BBQ chicken around the bread bowl. Add onion rings and coleslaw on the side. Serve with dipping sauces.
