A sweet and savory appetizer featuring baked pears with honey, blue cheese, and nuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or elegant weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese (or goat cheese if preferred)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep the pears by slicing them in half and removing the core. Place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
  2. Brush each pear with melted butter and drizzle with honey.
  3. Sprinkle the center of each pear with crumbled blue cheese and chopped nuts.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, or until the pears are tender and cheese is slightly melty.
  5. Drizzle more honey on top, sprinkle with thyme and sea salt. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use firm pears to prevent them from becoming too soft during baking.
  • Substitute goat cheese for blue cheese if preferred.
  • Adjust honey quantity based on desired sweetness.
