Delicious apple crumble bars with a buttery crust and spiced apple filling, perfect for fall.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, both sugars, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Press half the crumble into a greased 9×13″ baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Mix sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  4. Spread apple mixture evenly over the baked crust. Crumble remaining topping over the apples.
  5. Bake 30–35 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Let cool, then drizzle with glaze.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for the best crumb texture.
  • Let bars cool before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  • Adjust glaze thickness by adding more milk if needed.
