Delight in these easy, buttery Apple Crumb Bars filled with warm cinnamon-spiced apples.

Ingredients

  • 225 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 100 g brown sugar, packed
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 3 g salt
  • 310 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 g ground cinnamon
  • 500 g peeled sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 70 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 8 g cornstarch
  • 3 g ground cinnamon
  • 1 g ground nutmeg
  • 15 ml lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a 23×33 cm pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix melted butter, sugars, vanilla, and salt. Stir in flour and cinnamon. Press 2/3 into pan; bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Toss apples with sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Spread over crust.
  4. Sprinkle remaining crumble on top. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  5. Cool fully before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for best flavor
  • Add a drizzle of caramel for extra indulgence
