  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • Powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 8-inch pans. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Alternate adding the dry mixture with whole milk and yogurt until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until stiff peaks form.

  7. Top the assembled cake with the remaining whipped cream and garnish with powdered sugar and toasted almonds.
  8. Chill the cake for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
