Description
A creamy, garlicky shrimp Alfredo penne pasta that brings restaurant-quality flavor to your home in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
1 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp butter (unsalted)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until pink and opaque (2–3 mins per side). Remove and set aside.
3. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add garlic, sauté for 1 min. Pour in chicken broth or wine and reduce slightly. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
4. Whisk in Parmesan until melted and smooth. Add red pepper flakes if using. Add pasta and shrimp. Toss to coat.
5. Garnish with parsley and more Parmesan. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh shrimp for the best texture.
Let the Alfredo sauce simmer gently—don’t boil.
Reheat gently with a splash of cream to loosen the sauce.
